Main Responsibilities
• Oversee employee payroll for all Japan employees, FTE and Contractors
• Work closely with HR vender and check/calculate net salaries considering deductions and
withholdings
• Correctly compute the sales incentives to ensure timely payment on quarterly basis
• Ensure payroll, social insurance deductions and tax declarations are timely and accurate
• Update monthly journal entries and payroll files
• Update monthly accrued bonus and PTO file
• Prepare accounting files, records, and schedules as necessary
• Monitor paid and unpaid leaves for payroll calculations
• Process overtime earnings or holiday deductions
• Updating Follow the global payroll approval process (headcount & input versus output
reconciliation, funding request and GHAMEA and GH Inc mapping review, Gross to net variance
analysis)
• Work with People Team to update employment hires and terminations
• Resolve payroll problems (e.g. overlooked bank holidays, late payments, etc.)
• Participate in payroll audits
• Preparation of regular audits and reports for information storage reasons
• Ensure compliance with governmental laws on payroll accounting and taxes
• Liaise with US HQ on Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) compensation and Employee Stock Purchase
Program (ESPP)
• Support Finance Head as necessary
Ideal Skills & Experiences
• Degree in business/economics/Payroll Accounting management/accounting, Finance or other related fields
• Practical experience in the field of payroll accounting specialist
• Good analytical skills and, at best, experience with quantitative data collection
• Previous experience as a payroll accountant or in a similar role
• Understanding local and governmental rules about payroll
• Strong organizational, negotiation and communication skills
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
• Business level English & Japanese skills
